Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from the county in Morley's time. Ssp. demuthi, the subspecies found in Suffolk was not recognised until 1973 and not named until 1995.

Recent Suffolk Status: First county record was recognised in 1998, at Landguard, Felixstowe (P. Kitchener, gen. det. J. Clifton). Very local along the coast from Felixstowe to Aldeburgh. A few records further inland but those sites are not too far from river estuaries.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Flounced rustic lacks the white edged kidney mark, has a broader forewing and a brownish-white hindwing.

Habitat: The dry edges of saltmarshes.

Recorded in 7 (12%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1998.
Last Recorded in 2023.
